Cars damaged by Sandy could hit the market

Forbes recently warned potential car buyers to pay extra attention when purchasing a vehicle as many damaged or flooded cars from Hurricane Sandy could be cleaned and resold.

Car buyers are encouraged to utilize inspectmyride.com, which provides a thorough inspection of a car, like the one issued to a car after it's returned from a lease. For a small fee, a reputable mechanic will identify problems with that the car that need to be fixed. Current car owners are encouraged to take proactive measures in protecting their vehicles themselves by installing Husky Liners® custom fit floor mats to protect against wear and tear.

Carfax also warned of purchasing a damaged car, as there are more now than there were after Hurricane Katrina hit. Carfax estimates the amount of cars flooded or damaged by Hurricane Sandy has exceeded the amount of cars flooded or damaged by Hurricane Katrina. When all was said and done, Katrina caused more than $25 billion in damage, accounting for the costliest disaster in U.S. history. If Carfax's estimations are correct, Sandy would have destroyed more vehicles than any other single event in U.S. history.

"Carfax already receives information about flood damaged vehicles from every state impacted by Hurricane Sandy," said Larry Gamache, Carfax communications director. "Information about flood damage is reported to Carfax directly from every state DMV, as well as insurance companies, law enforcement organizations, repair facilities, and many other sources."

Yes its reality that damaged cars look very ugly or horrible, but according to me when we buy any old car we should always emphases on its Engine Power and wheels because these two things are main and power full part of any car.
